NA Qualifies For Postseason with Win Over Mars In Section Finale
The North Allegheny boys’ golf team hosted Mars for the final section match of the season on Friday afternoon in a win-or-go-home scenario for the WPIAL playoffs. The Tigers advanced to the postseason for a second consecutive season thanks to a 189-199 victory over the Planets.
Sophomore Ravi Desai led the charge for North Allegheny with a 3-under par, along with a 1-under par 35 from senior Jacob Phrampus. Sophomore Preston Troiano shot a 39, along with a 40 from junior Chris Hoffman. Sophomore Colin Ward and senior Collin Wang each carded a 42 to seal the win. The Planets were led by Lucas Singia and his score of 38.
With the win, North Allegheny caps section play with a 7-3 record. The team takes the weekend off to prepare for the WPIAL individual sectionals on Wednesday next week at Cranberry Highlands.
