NA runs win streak to five games with sweep of Mars
North Allegheny traveled to Mars on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Fighting Planets in a section match. For the second match in a row the Tigers won all five matches defeating Mars 5-0.
Mia Kaufman won No. 1 singles over Gianna Kampian by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Audrey Zheng took care of business in No. 2 singles by the same score over Gracie McCarty. Kaitlyn Zeman was the victor in No. 3 singles defeating Grace McMichael 6-2, 6-1.
The doubles teams continued to play well as Cynthia Li and Alexa Richey defeated Bell Pazzaglia and Elaina Riegler 6-2, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles while Kelly Tai and Ella Mangene beat Lacey Kern and Grace Getsey by a score of 6-1, 6-0.
North Allegheny improves to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the section. Mars falls to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in section play. The Tigers return to action on Thursday when they host Butler in another section match on the renovated courts at North Allegheny High School at 3:30 p.m.
