NA Shuts out Norwin, 5-0
North Allegheny traveled to Norwin on Tuesday night to take on the Knights in a Class 3A battle. The Tigers got ahead early and played great defense as they shutout the Knights in a 5-0 win.
Addison Burns got the only goal of the first quarter with 3:57 left to give NA a 1-0 lead. In the second quarter, Mia Brinkley took advantage of a penalty corner to put the Tigers up 2-0 at the half.
In the third quarter, North Allegheny took a 3-0 lead when Josie Schomberg tipped a shot in from Brinkley. The Tigers would score two more goals in the fourth quarter from Alexis Solomon and Bailey Yatcko and North Allegheny rolled to a 5-0 victory.
Kayla Joyce got the shutout in net.
North Allegheny improves to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the section. Norwin falls to 3-7 overall and 2-6 in the section. The Tigers will be back in action on Monday when they host Hempfield at 7:45 p.m. at Newman Stadium. This game will be broadcasted on the NA Sports Network.
