NA Skates To Win Over Armstrong, 4-1

North Allegheny bounced back from its first loss of the season with a thorough 4-1 win over Armstrong at the Belmont Ice Complex on Wednesday night. Senior Erik Chidester scored two goals for the Tigers to lead the way. The Tigers are tied for first place with the Pine-Richland Rams atop the Class AAA standings with a record of 3-1-1 on the young season.

North Allegheny stormed out of the gates in the first period with three goals, including a marker by Vincenzo Mazur just over two minutes into the game. Sophomore Justin Kidd added an unassisted goal at the 6:43 mark of the period and Chidester scored his first of the night, assisted by Dawson Richard and Haden Shimko, at the 8:07 mark for a 3-0 lead.

Chidester picked up his second goal of the contest in the second period to make it 4-0, Tigers, scoring on a power play. Armstrong’s Tanner Stewart broke the shutout with a goal in the third period to bring the final score to 4-1, North Allegheny.

Junior Ryan Heil got the start for the Tigers in net and made 31 saves to earn the victory. Jacob Lorigan stopped 27 of 31 shots in a losing effort for Armstrong.

North Allegheny returns to the ice on Tuesday, November 15 when the Tigers visit Cathedral Prep in Erie at 8:30 p.m.
