The NA Inline Tigers split a doubleheader this Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center. North Allegheny defeated Canon-McMillan 11-6 in the opener before falling to Central Catholic 5-3.
In game one against the Canon-McMillan Big Macs, it was the Big Macs initiating the first period scoring jumping out to a 2-0 lead.  The Tigers responded with two goals of their own.  The first goal came from senior Ethan Zadnik off of a rebound and the second goal at the close of the period was scored by freshman Adam Cameron assisted by senior brother Steven Cameron to close out the frame tied 2-2.
Period two saw the Tigers offense explode for seven goals as multiple Tigers hit the scoring column. Starting the effort was Zadnik from sophomore Christian Mark followed by a goal from junior Matthew Noffsinger again assisted by Mark.  Senior Kip Seymour was next to score, assisted by sophomore Liam Huey followed by an unassisted goal from S. Cameron.  The Big Macs managed a goal to stay in the game but the Tigers continued to pounce with a goal by Noffsinger from Seymour. In a back-and-forth effort to close out the period, the Big Macs again scored but the Tigers’ Huey responded with a marker assisted by S. Cameron.  As the Big Macs drew a Tiger penalty, senior Dan O’Malley claimed the shorthanded goal assisted by S. Cameron. The Big Macs scored a power play goal to end the period with the Tigers leading 9-5.
In the third period, the Tigers notch two more goals.  S. Cameron scored from Huey as the Big Macs managed one last goal.  The final goal for the Tigers was a short handed, five on two, empty net goal from O’Malley to end the game with a Tiger 11-6 victory.
Junior goalie Claudia Kushon earned the win.

The first period saw minimal scoring as the Vikings notched the lone goal of the frame.  In the second period, it was freshman A. Cameron to open the scoring assisted by senior S. Cameron and S. Cameron scoring assisted by junior Noffsinger.  The Vikings closed out the period with a goal to end the frame tied at 2-2.
In the final frame, a solid Vikings team manage three goals to the Tigers one.  S. Cameron scored this time from A. Cameron, but unfortunately it was not enough as the Tigers fell short with a 5-3 loss.
Junior goalie Kushon suffers the loss as the Tiger record falls to 8-5.  The Tigers will be off for the holiday break and will resume play on Sunday, January 5, at 10:00 a.m. against the Shaler Titans at the RMU Island Sports Center.
