
NA takes fourth at Mid-Winter Mayhem Invitational
North Allegheny traveled to the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania to take part in the Mid-Winter Mayhem Invitational over the weekend. It was a great showing for the Tigers, placing fourth out of 57 teams and accumulating 111 points with a fourth-place, sixth-place and seventh-place finish.
Bradyn McConneha was the top finisher for NA with a fourth-place finish. McConneha won his first four matches by fall before dropping an 8-1 decision in the semifinals. He would bounce back to defeat Cam Danna of West Allegheny 5-4 before falling in the third-place match to take fourth place.
Griffen Reid took sixth place at 152 lbs. Reid won his first three matches, two by fall and one by major decision, before dropping his quarterfinal match. He would fight through the consolation bracket winning his next two matches before falling 4-1 in the fifth-place match to Darius McMillon of Peters Township.
Mason Hartung was the seventh-place finisher at 215. He also won his first three matches before losing in the quarterfinals. Hartung went 1-1 in the consolation bracket before defeating Jacob Schwalm of Line Mountain 14-3 to claim seventh place.
Gus Stedeford went 4-2 on the weekend just missing getting to the seventh-place match. Evan Schomburg went 3-2. Kellen Buggey, Joseph Synan and Kyran Rautenbach all went 2-2. Charlie LaQuatra, Eli Mager and Brody Magorien were 1-2 on the weekend.

North Allegheny returns to the mat on Wednesday when they take on Seneca Valley at 7:00 p.m. at UPMC Court. This match will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
