NA Tennis runs winning streak to 10 with sweep of Moon
The North Allegheny girls’ tennis team won their tenth consecutive match of the 2023 season with a 5-0 sweep on the road of Moon in section action.
Senior Laeticia Wessel, freshman Peyton Mauser and sophomore Audrey Zheng each powered their way to a win in singles play. Wessel cruised to a 6-1, 6-0, victory against Ria Khazanchi at No. 1 singles. Mauser topped Keira Wise by a score of 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Zheng dominated Trerney Burk for a 6-1, 6-0, triumph.
The NA doubles teams had similar success as the No. 1 pairing of Tia Soussou and Siya Jain toppled Sydney Blewett and Ava Neff by a 6-4, 6-3, decision. The No. 2 duo of Rebecca Murphy and Kaitlyn Zeman rolled to a 6-1, 6-1, victory against Evie Wise and Nithya Kaerthi.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in section play and the Tigers will return home tomorrow to take on Mt. Lebanon in non-section action at 3:30 p.m.
