NA Tops Imhotep Charter, 45-35

The North Allegheny girls’ basketball opened day one of the Chambersburg Invitational with 45-35 triumph over Imhotep Charter on Saturday afternoon.

As they did in their last game against Seneca Valley, the Tigers used a suffocating defense to disrupt their opponent. NA once again didn’t yield a double-digit scorer, while the offense was paced by Pitt recruit Jasmine Timmerson with 16 points. The Tigers built a 14-11 lead in the early going and held a 24-17 advantage by intermission. Timmerson converted on 5-of-7 from the free-throw line to help put the Panthers away in the second half. Aiding the NA attack was junior forward Lydia Betz and junior guard Grace Heliger with nine points each.

Imhotep Charter was led by Jamee Johnson, Samya Stevens and Anise Geiger, who all scored nine points apiece.

North Allegheny leaps to 8-3 overall, while Imhotep Charter dips to 7-6 on the season. The Tigers look to continue their winning ways on Sunday against St. Frances (MD) in day two of the Chambersburg Invitational.
