NA Volleyballers Knock Out Norwin, 3-2
In a battle between two top-five teams in Class AAA, the North Allegheny Tigers won their joust with the Norwin Knights, 3-2, on Monday night. The third-ranked Tigers topped the No. 4-ranked Knights by set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 24-26, 20-25 and 15-8.
North Allegheny received big hitting performances from Jason Stiefvater, Eric Visgitis, Luke Visgitis and Canyon Tuman. Steifvater paced the Tigers with a team-high 13 kills, Eric and Luke Visgitis checked in with 12 kills apiece, and Tuman added 11 kills. Luke Visgitis played big near the net with five blocks. Libero Danny Lebovitz garnered 12 digs to lead the defense. Setter M.J. Barton tallied an impressive 49 assists.
With the non-section win, North Allegheny is 9-2 overall. The Tigers visit Derry Area for another non-section contest on Wednesday night. Start time is set for 7:00 p.m.
