NA Volleyballers Sweep Shaler, 3-0
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team continued its quest for a Section 2-AAA title on Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over the Shaler Titans. The victory locks up at least a share of the section crown. NA claimed the win by set scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-20.
Sophomore Canyon Tuman led the Tigers hitters with swings that produced a team-high 14 kills, while adding three blocks. Luke Visgitis also had an impressive hitting night with 10 kills and delivered four blocks at the net. Jake Barber led the team on defense with 10 digs, and setter M.J. Barton delivered 45 assists.
North Allegheny improves to 12-2 overall and 10-1 in Section 2-AAA. Shaler falls to 4-7 in the section. The Tigers can clinch an outright section crown on Thursday with a home match against North Hills. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
