NA wins fourth straight over Montour, 2-0
North Allegheny traveled to Montour High School on Saturday afternoon to take on the Spartans in a non-section matchup. The Tigers would pick up their second straight clean sheet and sixth in eight games as they defeated the Spartans 2-0 running their win streak up to four games.
The Tigers dominated possession of the ball in the first half but couldn’t find the back of the net and the score was 0-0 at the half. Both NA goals would come in quick succession as in the 67th minute, Nathan Katari showed off the speed dribbling past the Montour defense and scored to make the score 1-0. Katari almost scored twice in two minutes but Montour keeper Lucas Jenkins made a save on Katari in the 68th minute but Caleb Rumberger was there to clean up the rebound and give North Allegheny the 2-0 lead. The Tigers defense was lights out as keeper Ryan Young only had to make two saves in the match to pick up the clean sheet. NA outshot Montour 10-3 in the game, and finished off the 2-0 victory.
North Allegheny improves to 8-2-1 overall on the season. Montour falls to 6-4 overall. The Tigers return to action on Thursday when they travel to North Hills to take on the Indians in another Section 3-4A contest at 7:30 p.m.
