NA wins third straight with 38-27 victory over Pine-Richland
North Allegheny traveled to Pine-Richland High School on Wednesday night to take on the Rams in a Section 4-3A contest. The Tigers got four pins and seven wins overall as they defeated the Rams by a score of 38-27.
After falling behind 3-0, Charlie LaQuatra and Evan Schomburg got back-to-back pins to give NA the 12-3 lead. Gus Stedeford got a pin to make the score 18-6. After the Rams won the next two bouts to cut North Allegheny’s lead to 18-15, Gabriel Hernandez won a 12-8 decision followed by Brody Barnhart winning by tech fall, to expand the Tigers’ lead to 26-15. Pine-Richland would take the next two bouts to take the 28-27 lead but Mason Hartung got a pin and Bradyn McConneha won by forfeit to secure the 38-27 victory for the Tigers.
North Allegheny improves to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in Section 4-3A. Pine-Richland falls to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in the section. The Tigers return to action this weekend when they travel to Indiana, PA to take part in the Mid-Winter Mayhem Invitational at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex. Wrestling starts Friday at 9:00 a.m.
