NAVB falls in quarterfinals of Cumberland Valley Invitational

North Allegheny traveled to the middle of the state over the weekend to take part in the Cumberland Valley Invitational. This invitational is one of the best tournaments each year in girls volleyball with a lot of the top teams in the state attending. North Allegheny went 6-0 in pool play but fell to Middletown in the quarterfinals in a one-set match to 25. The Tigers had beaten Middletown twice in pool play. Allentown Central Catholic ultimately won the tournament.

Bridgit Murphy and Alicia Mokube each had 13 kills for the Tigers over tournament play. Murphy and Mokube also made their presence known at the net as Murphy had three blocks and Mokube had two. Mack Jones added 12 kills and dished out 22 assists while Molly Robertson and Geneva Adams each had seven kills. Robertson was great serving as she had five aces in the tournament, she also had 33 assists and 19 digs. Reagan Riordan had 18 digs and also served well with three aces. Macey Casten led NA in digs with 37.

North Allegheny will be back in action tomorrow when they host North Catholic in a Section 2-4A contest. The Tigers are 4-0 in section play while North Catholic sits a game back at 3-1. This game will be broadcast on the NA Sports Network and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
