North Hills Clips Lady Tigers, 4-2
The North Allegheny girls’ soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision to the North Hills Indians on Monday night in Section 1-AAAA play. The Lady Tigers raced out to a 1-0 lead at Martorelli Stadium in the first half on a cross from junior Maddie Escourt to freshman Emma Bundy who was positioned on the back post for an early goal.
The NA lead was short-lived, however, as North Hills tied the game immediately after Bundy’s goal and netted three straight markers in the first half to take a 3-1 lead by halftime. The Indians picked up a fourth goal in the second half for a 4-1 advantage. North Allegheny scored one last goal to bring the final to 4-2, Indians, when Anna Barton netted her first goal of the season on a great individual play to drive home a loose ball in front of the net.
North Allegheny drops to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in Section 1-AAAA action. North Hills improves to 4-2-3 overall and 3-2 in the section. The Lady Tigers hope to bounce back on Wednesday with a visit to Seneca Valley.
