The North Allegheny Tigers dropped a hard-fought battle to the Knights of Norwin, 1-0, on Wednesday night.

Under a full moon, the Knights began the game with an aggressive and physical series of attacks. The Tigers defense held strong and several shots were blocked by Emma Jorgenson to keep a clean sheet to end the first half, 0-0.  Jorgenson made 12 saves during the contest.

The second half started much the same with the Tigers on the defensive. The Knights finally tipped one in at the 23 minute mark to make it 1-0, Norwin.

Coach Trish Herbert rallied the team following the Norwin goal and NA went on the attack. The game got more physical when the Tigers broke into the Norwin end.  North Allegheny desperately pressed the Knights throughout the remainder of the game but the Tigers were unable to find the equalizer and fell to Norwin, 1-0. When it was over, Norwin had twelve shots on goal to NA’s seven and the penalty corners were even at five.

North Allegheny falls to 8-4 on the season and 5-2 in section play. The Tigers will take on the Ellis School in a non-section contest on Monday.
