Reigning State Champs Open Season With A Pair Of Road Wins
The North Allegheny girls’ golf team opened up the 2016 season with a pair of road victories last week. The first road match on Thursday, August 18, saw the reigning WPIAL and PIAA champions blast off against the Mars Planets, 177-214. Sophomore Caroline Wrigley and freshman Esha Vaidya led the way for the Tigers by each shooting a 41.
On Friday, August 19, North Allegheny prevailed in a battle of Tigers, taking down Moon by a final of 158-199. Sophomore Christina Lewis led the scorecard for NA with a team-low 36. Wrigley followed closely behind with a 36. Jessica Hood tallied a 42 and Vaidya posted a 43.
North Allegheny is back in action this afternoon with another road match at Seneca Valley. Tee time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
