Schomburg Scores Twice In 3-0 Win Over Mercy

Continuing their trip through the Great Lakes State, the North Allegheny Tigers blanked Mercy, 3-0, on Saturday at Novi High School.

The Tigers earned 12 penalty corners on the day and scored on a corner as time expired to end the first quarter when sophomore Josie Schomburg netted a goal for a 1-0 lead. NA increased the lead to 2-0 with 2:40 left in the second period on a goal by junior Isla Abrams.

The Tigers put the finishing touches on the win with one more goal by Schomburg with 2:44 remaining in the fourth period to close out a 3-0 victory. NA dominated the action and outshot Mercy, 22-1.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 6-1-1 on the season. The Tigers return home for a section game on Tuesday night against Allderdice. Start time is set for 7:30 p.m.
