Three Pitchers Combine To No-Hit Hampton

The North Allegheny lineup pounded out 16 hits and three pitchers combined to no-hit the Hampton Talbots en route to a 14-1 non-section victory in six innings on Thursday afternoon. The pitching triumvirate of Aaron Galaska, Cam Ward and Nate Hess collaborated for the eighth no-hitter in program history. Prior to Thursday, the last NA no-hitter was tossed by Kevin Janosko in a five-inning effort on April 5, 2017 against Penn Hills.

Galaska got the start on the bump and pitched four clean innings with one walk and two strikeouts. Ward followed and allowed one run on two walks but didn’t allow a hit in his one inning of work. Flirting with the no-no heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, Hess pitched a 1-2-3 frame to cap the effort.

Offensively, the Tigers opened the scoring with a four-run first inning and the rout was on. Junior Cole Young posted a three-hit day and scored three runs. Sophomore Spencer Barnett and junior Aaron Posey each recorded two hits and two RBI. In all, 10 different players collected a hit in a complete domination of the Talbots.

With the non-section win, North Allegheny improves to 10-1 overall.  Hampton falls to 5-7 overall on the season. The Tigers will visit Norwin on Friday afternoon in a clash of Class 6A titans in non-section play.
