Tigers back in win column with 10-6 win over Hempfield

The NA Inline Tigers got back in the win column with a 10-6 victory over the Hempfield Spartans, Sunday morning at the RMU Island Sports Center.

The Tigers struck first with goals from senior Steven Cameron assisted by sophomore Christian Mark, followed up by a goal from Mark assisted by senior Dan O’Malley. The Spartans notched their first goal shortly after but the Tigers closed out the period with an additional unassisted goal from Cameron to end the period up 3-1.

It was back and forth scoring in the second period as the Tigers and Spartans continued to exchange goals. Senior Ethan Zadnik kept the Tigers on the board scoring all three of the Tiger goals for the frame, two of which were assisted by O’Malley and the third assisted by Mark ending with the Tigers up 6-4.

Although the Spartans claimed the first two goals of the third period to tie the game at 6-6, it was Zadnik once again continuing his offensive barrage with a delayed penalty goal assisted by Cameron, followed by a goal from junior Stefan Craig assisted by Cameron and two more goals from Zadnik assisted by Mark and Cameron, giving the Tigers the 10-6 win. Zadnik finished the game with six goals.

Senior goalie Luca Thomas earns his first varsity win of the season as the Tigers record improves to 6-4. The Tigers are off next weekend and will resume play on Sunday, December 8, the time and opponent is to be determined.
