Tigers blast Big Macs, 7-3

On December 17, Canon McMillan caught North Allegheny on one of their worst nights and defeated the Tigers, 6-2. The narrative was very different Monday night when North Allegheny scored early and often to take down the Big Macs, 7-3. Tyler Lamark had a four-point night with two goals and two assists, and the NA power play went 3-for-5.

NA’s first goal came 2:40 into the game when Connor Chi got behind the defense and beat Big Mac goaltender, Mario Eafrati. The Tigers then picked up a goal five minutes later and had a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The second period was much more even with Canon McMillan scoring 37 seconds into the period on a Logan Ford snipe, cutting the lead to 2-1. Things stayed stagnant until three minutes remaining in the period when Tyler Lamark got a great feed from Chi and made the score 3-1, Tigers. A minute later, Tyler Sippel picked up a power play goal to really separate the Tigers from the Big Macs, leading 4-1 heading into the third.

There was nothing but scoring in the third period, North Allegheny picked up goals from Luke Washbaugh, Will Parreaguirre and Lamark to finish off the night, winning 7-3. For his efforts, Lamark was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game. Chi added a goal and two assists and Parreaguirre picked up a goal and an assist. Tyler Boyles got the win making 21 saves on 24 shots.

North Allegheny improves to 15-3-1 overall with 31 points. With the win, the Tigers clinched the top seed in the Class AAA PIHL Playoffs. There’s one more regular season game for the Tigers as they take on Pine-Richland next Monday at the Baierl Ice Center once again.
