Tigers Bounce Butler, 3-1

For the second time this week, the North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team defeated the Butler Golden Tornado with a 3-1 victory. The Tigers earned the road win on Thursday night by set scores of 20-25, 25-12, 25-13 and 25-17.

The Tigers got off to a rocky start against the Tornado and dropped set one but returned to form to take the next three sets. Sophomore Mia Tuman led with 14 kills and senior Paige Miller notched double figures with 12 kills. Adding to the offense was senior Paige Morningstar with eight kills, junior Rachel Burton posted seven kills, junior Jadyn Perkins tallied six kills and sophomore Ella Deeter tallied five kills.

Perkins stonewalled Butler with three blocks, while sophomore Caroline Curran led the defense with 18 digs. Tuman notched 13 digs, followed by Miller and sophomore Rebecca Pilotta with nine digs apiece. North Allegheny had a great collective effort serving the ball, led by Tuman with three aces.

North Allegheny leaps to 7-0 overall and in Section 1-AAAA. The Tigers will host Seneca Valley on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
