Tigers clinch section title in win over Pine-Richland
The Tigers battled the Rams in a close section matchup at Treesdale Country Club on Wednesday afternoon. North Allegheny won the match 181-185. The win clinched the Tigers first section title since 2015 when they split the title with the Rams. This is the first time NA won the section title outright since 2013.
Junior Preston Troiano‘s 3-under par 33 led the way for North Allegheny. A one-under par 35 performance by junior Ravi Desai along with an even par card from Charlie Burbick helped out. Senior Chris Hoffman shot a 38 while junior Liam Cooper added a 39.
Pine-Richland was led by Michael Pifer who shot a 34.
North Allegheny improves to 14-2 overall and 10-1 in the section. Pine-Richland falls to 7-4 overall and 6-4 in the section. The Tigers take the rest of the week to prepare for the WPIAL Section Qualifier that will take place on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Slippery Rock Golf Club.
