Tigers Clinch Section Title With Win Over North Hills
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team locked up an outright Section 2-AAA title on Thursday night with a 3-0 triumph over the North Hills Indians. The senior night victory came by way of set scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-21.
Senior Austin Kurtanich finished the match up with a big kill on match point. Junior Eric Visgitis was a perfect 6 for 6 on kill attempts, the second match in a row he has hit 1.000. Senior Josh Shaw also notched six kills to help lead the offense. On defense, Justin Bachinsky and Jake Barber collected six digs each. Junior Luke Visgitis stuffed the middle of the net with five blocks. A.J. Schmidt dished out a team-best 19 assists and M.J. Barton facilitated 15 assists.
The playoff-bound Tigers improve to 13-2 overall and 11-1 in Section 2-AAA. North Allegheny will take on Ambridge in a non-section match on Friday night.
