Tigers defeated by Peters Township, 7-3

North Allegheny traveled to Printscape Arena at Southpointe to take on the Indians of Peters Township in a PIHL Class 3A early season matchup. Peters Township used a big second period to defeat the Tigers 7-3.

The Indians scored the first two goals of the game to jump out to a 2-0 lead before William Kasunich scored off an assist from Travis Lamark and after a period the Tigers only trailed 2-1. The second period was all Peters Township as would outscore NA 4-0 in the period to take a 6-1 lead into intermission.

The Tigers continued to fight in the third period as they got two goals, three minutes apart from Marc Joyson and Cedric Otey on the power play to cut the Indians lead in half at 6-3. Kasunich assisted on Joyson’s goal while Lamark and Kyle Imm got the helpers on the Otey power play goal. Peters Township would score an empty netter to put the game out of reach and the Tigers fell by a score of 7-3.

Cam Junker made 17 saves while Messier Trevino had eight saves.

North Allegheny falls to 1-2-0 with 3 points. Peters Township improves to 1-1-0 with 3 points. The Tigers are back at home on Thursday, October 17 when they will face-off with Central Catholic at 9:00 p.m. from the Baierl Ice Complex.
