Tigers Dominate On Senior Night, Await PIHL Playoffs

The North Allegheny ice hockey team fashioned a 4-1 victory over the Pine-Richland Rams in the Tigers’ regular season finale and senior night. Senior Erik Chidester tallied two goals and one assist to lead the Tigers to the win. NA jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Pine-Richland netted a meaningless goal by Will Studt with less than four minutes remaining.

Chidester opened the scoring with a goal just 34 seconds into the game to give NA a 1-0 lead. The Tigers added on in the second period on a power play marker by senior John Parks for a 2-0 advantage. Senior Cameron Zahn tallied a power play goal 56 seconds into the third period for a 3-0 lead and Chidester netted one last Tiger goal at the 2:48 mark of the third.

North Allegheny dictated the pace of the game and heavily outshot Pine-Richland, 43-14. Junior goalie Ryan Heil earned the win for the Tigers and made 13 saves.

North Allegheny concludes the regular season with a record of 13-4-3, good for second place in the Class AAA standings. Pine-Richland finishes the year with a mark of 6-11-3 and will miss the postseason. The Tigers will await the PIHL playoffs which begin next month.
