Tigers dominate Raiders on Senior Night
North Allegheny hosted the Seneca Valley Raiders in a Section 4-3A matchup on Wednesday night at UPMC Court. The Tigers dominated from start to finishing coming away with the 64-6 win over the Raiders on Senior Night.
Griffen Reid got things started at 152 lbs winning by tech fall, Kellen Buggey won by major decision and Nathan Orlando also won by tech fall. NA had three straight pins from Kyran Rautenbach, Mason Hartung and Bradyn McConneha to expand the lead. Three straight tech falls from Joseph Synan, Charlie LaQuatra and Evan Schomburg got the Tigers some bonus points. Dalton Stragand had the match of the night to get the fall with four seconds left to win his bout, Gus Stedeford won by tech fall and Eli Mager finished off the dominating performance with a pin to give North Allegheny the 64-6 victory.
Stragand was named the Wright Automotive Wrestler of the Match as he trailed his entire bout, even down 13-11 with four seconds left but got the pin to secure his victory.
North Allegheny improves to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in section play. Seneca Valley falls to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the section. The Tigers return to action on Friday when they head to Fox Chapel High School to take part in the Allegheny County Tournament that will be over two days. Wrestling will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
