Tigers Drop Decision To Derry, 3-1
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team dropped a non-section contest to Derry on Friday night by a 3-1 decision. Derry topped NA by set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-19 and 25-21.
Despite the loss, North Allegheny received another top-shelf performance from freshman Canyon Tuman who tallied a team-high 18 kills and 14 block assists. Seniors Nikola Topich and Robert Stiefvater added to the NA attack with 10 kills apiece. Topich also tallied 10 digs, while senior libero Ethan DeRubbo notched a team-best 12 digs on defense. Setter Jeremy Best contributed with a career-high 44 assists.
North Allegheny slips to 8-5 overall on the season. The playoff-bound Tigers return to section play with a home match with the Shaler Titans on Tuesday night. Start time is set for 7:00 pm.
