
Tigers drop section battle with North Hills
North Allegheny hosted North Hills on Friday night at UPMC Court. The Tigers got off to a slow start and ultimately fell to the Indians by a score of 59-35.
North Hills came out of the gates hot, outscoring NA 13-3 in the first quarter. The North Allegheny offense found its legs in the second quarter but still trailed by double digits with the score being 26-11 at the half.
In the third quarter, the Indians couldn’t miss scoring 27 points in the period. In the fourth quarter, things stayed even but the Tigers ultimately fell by a score of 59-35.
Carson Burns finished with 12 points for NA. Jon Jubeck had nine points while Carter Melzer added eight points. For his efforts, Burns was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game.
North Allegheny falls to 7-13 overall and 2-11 in the section. North Hills improves to 7-14 overall and 6-7 in section play. The Tigers wrap up section play on Friday when they travel to New Castle with tip scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
