Tigers Drop WPIAL Title Rematch With Peters Township
In a rematch of the WPIAL Class 3A championship, the reigning champion Peters Township Indians fended off the North Allegheny girls’ golf team on Monday afternoon, 169-196.
At Valleybrook Golf Club in Washington County, the Tigers were paced by senior Megan Manesiotis with a team-best score of 41. Senior Amber Roth tallied a score of 46, followed by sophomore Kayli Dings with a 51. Sophomores Kirsten Karlovits and Omisa Shah each shot a 58 to round out the scoring. Peters Township was led by clubhouse leader Ellie Benson with a low score of 37.
With the non-section loss, North Allegheny dips to 1-3 overall on the season. The Tigers look to bounce back on Tuesday in the section opener against Seneca Valley at Diamond Run Golf Course.
