Tigers Edge Raiders By Two Strokes For Section Win
On a perfect day for golf at Diamond Run Golf Course, the North Allegheny Boys Golf team topped the Seneca Valley Raiders by two strokes for a section opening triumph. The Tigers outshot the Raiders, 197-199, and were paced by sophomore Ryan Dougherty’s 37. Junior Noah Wessel delivered an impressive 38 and senior Josh Huhn followed with a 39. In a strong day overall, David Mrazik shot a 41, Kyle Dewey finished with 42 strokes and Martin Lazzaro rounded out the scoring for NA with a 44.
For the Raiders, Evan Hangliter was the team leader with a 38. Taylor Leake and Andy Smathers performed well, each shooting a 39.
North Allegheny improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in section play. The Tigers visit Hampton this afternoon in a non-section affair. Tee time is set for 3:00 pm.
