Tigers Edged By Foxes, 1-0

The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team dropped a narrow 1-0 decision at Fox Chapel on Thursday night in Section 1-AAAA action. It was the 11th one-goal game that the Tigers have played in this season.

Earlier in the season on Sept. 13 at Newman Stadium, Fox Chapel George Tabor scored with 16 seconds left to give the Foxes the victory. In Thursday’s matchup, the Foxes netted the game’s only goal in the 35th minute when Ari Johnson scored for a 1-0 lead.

Junior goalie Dante Accamando made seven saves in net for the Tigers, while the combo of Owen Levy and Connor Scanlon mace five saves to secure the shutout for the Foxes.

North Allegheny slips to 8-6-1 overall and 6-6 in Section 1-AAAA. Fox Chapel improves to 9-2-2 overall and 8-2-2 in the section. The Tigers look bounce back on Tuesday with a visit to Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m.
