Tigers Edged By Patriots In Season Opener

The North Allegheny Boys’ Soccer team fell to Wheeling Park 2-1 in the season’s opening game at the Pine-Richland Invitational Friday night.

The Tigers tallied 11 total shots (eight on goal) in the contest and opened the scoring in the second minute. Senior Nick Denysenko scored the first goal of the season, but the Patriots responded 15 minutes later. Wheeling Park senior Tresz McLeod scored unassisted to knot the game up. McLeod would eventually give the Patriots the lead in the 77th minute, on a tally assisted by junior Wilson Hanna.

Seniors Ryan Young, Emiliano Perin, and junior Xavier Zyskowski all saw time in net and made five total saves in the contest.

The Tigers continue play in the Pine-Richland Invitational Saturday against North Catholic at 1:45 p.m.
