
Tigers fall on Day 1 of Skip Coleman Tip-Off Tournament
North Allegheny traveled east to take part in the Skip Coleman Tip-Off Tournament at State College High School. The Tigers took on the Dock Mennonite Pioneers on Friday night. NA got off to a rough start and ultimately fell to Dock Mennonite, 48-45.
It was a slow start for North Allegheny who trailed 16-4 after a quarter of play. In the second quarter, the Tigers got back into the game as they got 12 points from Justin Stalter and outscored Dock Mennonite 20-8 in the frame and the score was square 24-24 at half. NA took the lead 37-35 heading into the fourth quarter, but would get outscored 13-8 in the final frame to fall 48-45.
Stalter led the Tigers with 16 points. Carter Melzer added 12 points while Jon Jubeck had six.
North Allegheny falls to 1-1 overall. The Tigers return to action tomorrow when they take on Bishop Shanahan in the consolation game of the Skip Coleman Tip-Off Tournament. That game will start at 12:30 p.m. at State College High School.
