Tigers Fall to Blue Devils In Non-Section Matchup

Preparing for the upcoming WPIAL Class 3A playoffs next week, the North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team played a tough non-section tune-up game on Monday night and dropped a 16-6 decision to Mt. Lebanon.

The Blue Devils, the undefeated champions (8-0) in Section 1-AAA, jumped out to a 10-3 halftime lead and held the advantage for the remainder of the night. Mt. Lebanon was paced by a four-goal performance from Flagler University commit Tegan Hoover. Juniors Morgan Daniels and Nora Austin each netted a hat trick for the visiting Blue Devils.

North Allegheny was paced by junior Isla Abrams, who posted a hat trick. Senior Leigh Failla scored a pair of goals late in the game and IUP commit Mila Prusak tallied one marker for the Tigers. In net, junior goalie Izzie Trunzo made nine saves in the defeat.

Following the loss, North Allegheny’s record dips to 7-8 on the season, while Mt. Lebanon improves to 15-1 overall. The Tigers visit Hampton on Wednesday for another non-section contest.
