Tigers Go Ryder To Defeat Bulls
On Senior Night at NASH Field on Tuesday, it was junior catcher Laura Ryder who came up with the big hits to lead NA to a 5-1 victory over a determined Brashear Bulls team. Ryder’s double to deep center field in the second inning was the big hit as the Tigers scored two runs to overcome a 1-0 deficit. Then, in the bottom of the third, a two-run home run to left field by Ryder increased the Tiger advantage to 4-1, and NA never looked back. Also garnering extra- base hits for NA were senior left fielder Mackenzie Gostomski and senior second baseman Emily Hogan to pace a seven-hit Tiger offense.
With the win, North Allegheny improves its overall record to 10-0, and its Section 3-AAAA record to 9-0. Next up for the Tigers is a scheduled doubleheader at NASH Field vs. Pine-Richland on Wednesday afternoon, with the first pitch being scheduled for 4:00 pm.
