Boys Soccer moves into tie for first place with 1-0 win over Fox Chapel

North Allegheny traveled to Fox Chapel on Thursday night to take on the Foxes. Fox Chapel was in first place in the section, leading the Tigers by a game. By the time the night was over, the two teams were tied for the Section 3-4A lead as NA picked up a big 1-0 road victory over the Foxes.

After a scoreless first half, North Allegheny would get on the board eight minutes into the second half when Zach Nash drove toward the goal, drew the attention of all the defenders leaving Leonardo Yu open on his left, Nash completed a perfect pass to Yu who found the back of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0. The defense and keeper Ryan Young would take it from there as Young made seven saves and Yu’s goal stood as the game-winner giving NA the 1-0 win.

North Allegheny improves to 7-2-1 and 4-1 in the section. Fox Chapel falls to 6-2-1 and 4-1 in section play. The Tigers will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Montour to take on the Spartans in a non-section match at 12:30 p.m.
