Tigers pick up 4th straight sweep in 5-0 win over Shaler
For the fourth consecutive match, every Tiger won their individual match as they defeated Shaler 5-0 on Monday afternoon at North Allegheny High School.
Mia Kaufman took No. 1 singles over Grace Grabowksi 6-1, 6-0. Audrey Zheng and Kaitlyn Zeman both pulled off clean sweeps defeating Alexis Frisbee and Izzy Gearinger 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
Alexa Richey and Remi Hayward didn’t concede a game against Ashlynn Busha and Gabi Navas winning 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 doubles while Kella Tai and Ella Mangene defeated Brooke Bankowski and Grace Fischer 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles.
North Allegheny improves to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the section. Shaler falls to 0-4 overall and in section. The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to the south hills to battle Mt. Lebanon in a non-section match at 3:30 p.m. This is a rematch of the 2023 WPIAL Semifinals.
