Tigers Place 2nd and 3rd in Section Singles Finals
The WPIAL Section 2 Singles Tournament completed play on the NASH courts under windy conditions Wednesday afternoon, and the Tigers took home the silver and the bronze. The Tigers’ number two singles player and 5th seed, senior Manas Kathir, defeated Mars’ senior Josh Dunham (the 2nd seed) by a score of 6-3, 6-2 Freshman Shaun Fernando, the Tigers number one singles player and third seed took on Anthony Lounder of Moon, the 1st seed, and fell 6-2, 6-1.
All four participants have qualified for the WPIAL AAA Singles Championship Tournament to be played April 11 and 12, starting on the NASH courts. Tournament seeding will be released the week of April 3. Congratulations to the four finalists for an outstanding tournament.
