Tigers roll over Spartans, win second straight

North Allegheny scored early and often as they dominated the Hempfield Spartans in a Section 1-3A matchup, winning their second straight match by a score of 10-0 at Spartan Stadium on Tuesday night.

Josie Schomburg got the scoring going for the Tigers eleven minutes into the match to give NA the 1-0 lead. The Tigers would score two more times in the next three minutes as Addison Burns made the score 2-0, then Schomburg found the back of the net once again and the Tigers led 3-0 after a quarter. The offense continued into the second quarter as two minutes into the period, Bailey Yatcko would make the score 4-0 Tigers. Mia Brinkley would get on the board late in the second quarter on a reverse flick and NA enjoyed a 5-0 lead at halftime.

Yatcko would bury her second goal a little over a minute into the third quarter on a penalty corner to give North Allegheny the 6-0 lead. Ryann Snowden and Elizabeth Petschke each tallied goals in the third quarter and the Tigers led 8-0 going into the final frame. In the last period, the NA offense stayed persistent getting a third goal from Schomburg on an assist from Burns, then Burns would score herself on an assist from Brinkley to bring the final score to 10-0.

Kayla Joyce got the shutout in net. North Allegheny outshot Hempfield 56-3 in the match.

The Tigers improve to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the section. Hempfield falls to 2-7 overall and 0-7 in section play. NA will be back in action on Thursday when they host Pine-Richland at 5:30 p.m. at Newman Stadium. This match will be broadcasted on the NA Sports Network.
