
Tigers secure section with senior night sweep of Butler

On the night when North Allegheny honored it’s six senior spikers before the match, the Tigers took care of business on the court, posting a straight set victory (25-19, 25-18, 25-11) to clinch the outright 4A Section 2 title.
North Allegheny jumped out in front 4-1 and 11-3 and never trailed in set one.
Butler controlled the early part of the second set, but after a timeout, the Tigers gained their footing to post the seven-point win.
In set three it was all NA, scoring 11 of the first thirteen points to cruise to the sweep.
Molly Robertson paced the Tigers at the net with 11 kills and one block. Alicia Mokube added six.
Keely McMahon-Regan had ten assists and three aces, while DeDe Alualu added a pair of aces from the service line. Reagan Riordan had 15 digs in the victory.
At the request of the Tigers coaching staff, the Wright Automotive Players of the Game were the teams seniors. Macey Casten was all over the scoresheet, with five kills, 20 digs and four aces. Mack Jones added ten digs, 21 assists and a block. Bella Huwar had six kills and a block. Hannah DeLucia had six kills while Bridgit Murphy added a block. Senior Anna Bridges added her usual all around play defensively and from the service line, and on the mic with the always stellar rendition of the National Anthem.
North Allegheny, (14-0, 9-0), has one section contest left, this Thursday at North Catholic. The WPIAL volleyball playoff pairings will be released this Friday.
