Tigers sweep dual meet with Seneca Valley and North Hills

North Allegheny cross country teams hosted Seneca Valley and North Hills for a section showdown on Tuesday afternoon at North Park. After a short lighting delay, the Tigers were able to show themselves as the best team on the day, going 2-0 to keep their undefeated season going.

The girls defeated the Raiders 26-37 and the Indians 17-46. The girls were led by an outstanding performance by senior Camille Swirsding who won the race outright with great time of 20:07. Sophomore Gabby Pizon had a huge race, placing third overall. Freshman phenom Lydia Stuart had a strong fifth place finish. Junior Tess Pagnotto had a solid race, placing fourth for the Tigers and eighth overall. Freshman Mary Lucas sealed the victory for NA with a tenth place finish. Senior Nicole Reubi and sophomore Abby Gordish were close behind, taking the next two spots and rounding out NA’s top seven.
In the boys race, the Tigers won by scores of 22-35 against Seneca Valley and 19-38 against North Hills. Junior Andrew Peigh won the race with an excellent time of 16:27. Senior Tyler Davis made a valiant effort to grab third overall. Senior Anthony Miklos was only a few seconds back with an excellent race to place fourth. Senior Jackson Beemer was sixth overall with a great race. Senior Sebastian Klimchak grabbed the fifth NA spot to secure the win for the Tigers (12th overall). Seniors Clayton Blough and Sergio Abdallah rounded out the scoring seven with strong races.
Both teams improve 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the section. The Tigers will face off against Butler and Shaler on October 1st to finish on the regular season dual meet schedule at Butler High School at 3:30 p.m.
