Tigers Sweep Seneca Valley, 5-0
Cold weather forced the Tigers tennis squad indoors again, this time to Pure Athletex Tuesday afternoon where they swept their rivals from the north, Seneca Valley, 5-0. Each of the five matches resulted in straight set wins, as the Tigers tangled with coach Eric Grove’s young squad. Opening the scoring for the Tigers was sophomore Jared Isaacs at number two singles. The second team point came via the number three singles spot manned by sophomore Andrew Xu. Senior Kylie Isaacs delivered the third and clinching point at number one singles. Rounding out the victory parade were junior Michael Helkowski and freshman Ryan Marczak at number two doubles, while senior Stephen Chuirazzi and junior Eric Huang took the honors at number one doubles. Moving to 4-0 on the young season and 3-0 in Section 2 play, the Tigers take on another section foe Wednesday afternoon, Butler Area. The starting time for this home match at Pure Athletex against the Golden Tornado is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
