Tigers Tame Tornado
North Allegheny hosted the Butler Golden Tornado on their newly renovated North Allegheny Senior High School tennis courts on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in a section match. For the fourth time in the last five matches, the Tigers swept their opponent with a 5-0 win over Butler.
Mia Kaufman took care of No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Laini Spohn. Audrey Zheng had no issues in No. 2 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Sophia Kingsley. Kaitlyn Zeman defeated Emily Hinch by a score of 6-0, 6-3 in No. 3 singles.
In doubles, Cynthia Li and Alexa Richey beat Maggie Bodamer and Olivia Porneluzi 6-0, 6-3 in No. 1 doubles. In No. 2 doubles, Remi Hayward and Kelly Tai defeated Cassie Boiler and Lindsay Lipp 6-3, 6-1.
North Allegheny improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the section. Butler falls to 2-4 overall and 0-4 in section play. The Tigers return to action on Monday when they host the Shaler Titans at 3:30 p.m. at North Allegheny High School.
