Tigers Topple Titans, 3-0
North Allegheny bounced back from a loss last week to Derry with a 3-0 sweep of the Shaler Titans on Tuesday night. The Tigers won the home section match by set scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-23.
Senior Nikola Topich had a strong night and punished the Titans with 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .636. Jake Stone and Jeremy Best made life difficult at the net for Shaler with four block assists apiece. Best also tallied 38 assists. Defensively, senior libero Ethan DeRubbo covered the floor with 15 digs, followed by Josh Huhn who posted eight digs.
North Allegheny improves to 9-5 overall and 7-4 in Section 2-AAA with the win. Shaler falls to 4-10 overall and 2-9 in section play. The Tigers will round out their section schedule on the road on Thursday night at North Hills.
