Tigers Trounce Titans, 10-2
For the second time this season, the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team reached double figures in scoring with a 10-2 blowout of the Shaler Titans on Monday night. The Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 lead by halftime and never looked back in the Section 1-AAAA victory.
Junior Alexa Spano opened the scoring with 23:10 remaining in the first half for a 1-0 lead. Senior Sarah Schupanksy, who finished with a hat trick, netted her first of the evening for a 2-0 lead with 18:06 to play in the half. Freshman Abigail Stager and sophomore Lucia Wells followed with goals, and Stager added one more with just four seconds to go before halftime for a commanding 5-0 advantage.
In the second half, Schupansky tallied two more goals, while freshman Samantha Braden and sophomores Anna Bundy and Allie Burns added to the scoring en route to a 10-2 victory.
With the win, North Allegheny 6-2 overall and 5-1 in Section 1-AAAA. The Tigers will visit Pine-Richland on Wednesday.
