Tigers victorious over Rams in Four Sets

North Allegheny hosted the Rams of Pine-Richland on Tuesday night at UPMC Court in the section opener for both teams. It was the Tigers who got a great start to section play defeating the Rams in four sets.

North Allegheny won the first set, 25-21, and was leading 17-13 in the second set, when Pine-Richland would go on a 10-0 run to take a 23-17 lead in the set and ultimately win the second set 25-18. The Tigers bounced back to win the third set by a score of 25-14. In the fourth set, with the score tied 3-3, North Allegheny went on a 15-0 run to take an 18-13 lead, and coasted to a 25-9 set and match victory.

Keely McMahon-Regan served up three aces, dished out 28 assists and added seven digs. For her efforts, McMahon-Regan was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game. Geneva Adams led North Allegheny offensively with 11 kills. Molly Robertson added 10 kills to go with 10 digs. Mackenzie Jones had nine kills and 11 assists. Bridgit Murphy and Alicia Mokube held it down at the net with five and four blocks respectively. Macy Casten led NA with 19 digs and also had three aces.

North Allegheny improves to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the section. Pine-Richland falls to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in section play. The Tigers return to action on Thursday when they travel to Seneca Valley to take on the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. in another section match.
