Tigers Win Back-To-Back State Titles, Sweep Central York, 3-0

The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team won back-to-back PIAA Class AAA championships with a 3-0 sweep over Central York on Saturday at Penn State University. The Tigers won by set scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-20.

North Allegheny was never really threatened in a match it was determined to win. The Tigers were led offensively by senior Drew Hunker with 13 kills. Senior Jeremiah Zemet posted seven kills and a team-leading seven blocks. Senior setter Sava Topich dished out 32 assists and senior libero Trevor Treser posted a team-best 23 digs on his way to Wright Automotive Player of the Match honors.

North Allegheny finishes the year with a 23-0 record and extends its winning streak to 46 in a row. Congratulations to Coach Dan Schall, the entire coaching staff and all of the Tigers for a terrific season.
