Tina Li & Eugenia Lee Qualify For PIAA Doubles Tournament
The North Allegheny duo of Tina Li and Eugenia Lee has qualified for the PIAA Doubles Championships later this month. Li and Lee reached the finals of the Class AAA Doubles tournament on Wednesday before falling to Fox Chapel’s Laurel Shymansky and Amanda Nord.
On their way to the finals, Li and Lee defeated Madison DeBone and Maura Sackett of Hempfield (10-3) in the opening round, Marikate Reese and Christine Laderer of Mt. Lebanon (10-2) in the quarterfinals, and Lindsey Miller and Devin Gramley of Shady Side Academy (6-3, 6-2) in the semifinals.
NA’s Tristyn Maalouf and Catherine Liu also competed in the WPIAL Doubles Championships but were ousted in the quarterfinals.
The PIAA Singles/Doubles Championships will be held on October 31 and November 1 in Hershey
