Top-Ranked Fox Chapel Stops Tigers, 3-1

The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team fell to the Fox Chapel Foxes on Tuesday night, 3-1, in a road Section 2-AAA contest. Fox Chapel won the regular season series against the Tigers with set wins of 25-20, 24-26, 25-12 and 25-18.

Despite the loss, North Allegheny fought hard against the top-ranked Foxes with several players contributing outstanding performances. Freshman Canyon Tuman was the top hitter for the Tigers with 12 kills and added a team-best eight block assists. Defensively, libero Ethan DeRubbo covered the floor with 21 digs, followed by Nikola Topich’s 11 digs. Senior setter Jeremy Best posted 29 assists.

North Allegheny slips to 5-4 overall and 4-4 in Section 2-AAA play. Fox Chapel remains undefeated with a mark of 8-0 in the section.  The Tigers look to bounce back on Thursday night with a home match against the Butler Golden Tornado.  Start time is slated for 7:00 pm.
