Top-ranked Tigers Sink Second-Ranked Titans, 3-0
In a battle of the top two teams in Class AAA, the North Allegheny Girls Volleyball Team swept the Shaler Titans, 3-0, in a non-section clash on Monday night. The Lady Tigers earned the victory with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-19.
North Allegheny junior Erin Swartz had a strong night, posting a team-high 10 kills and three blocks. Senior Ashley Leto notched seven kills and a team-best 11 digs. Senior Jessica Samuels scored 10 digs and setter Beth Muhlenkamp collected 19 assists. Muhlenkamp, Cayla Donahue and Erin Johns all notched aces in the winning effort.
North Allegheny jumps to 9-0 overall and will return to section play on Tuesday night against the Hampton Talbots. The match will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
